Learning how to learn

As we grow older, we learn new things and yet, many things are forgotten.

One learns to communicate better but forgets the math.

One learns to understand emotions but forgets the logic.

One learns to be creative but forgets the definitions.

In this conundrum of growing, there are two things I have found to bring peace. The first is relearning how to learn. Just reading articles and scrolling down internet pages do not imply retention. There are specific techniques ANYBODY can use to learn — focused attention, understanding the concept, and practice make learning possible. Chunk and recall, the Pomodoro technique, saving willpower for things that matter the most, doing the hard things in the morning, are a few basic techniques that can help in learning.

The second thing that I am yet to figure out is how to jump easily between hard skills and soft skills during work and personal life. And as I write this, I also realize that there must be a way to increase one’s willpower — that is probably what sets the best apart from everyone else.

That’s all for now!
